Funerals and Memorial Services

Centre Street Church can provide a funeral or memorial service to honour your loved one's life and communicate the hope we can all have through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Services can be held in the Centre Street Church Chapel or Worship Centre, at your chosen funeral home or at another location in the city.

Our Funeral Co-ordinator and a CSC pastor will meet with you and your family to design an appropriate service, including music and scripture verses.

Use of CSC for Funeral/Memorial Services for non CSC congregants

Centre Street Church is committed to providing spiritual and supportive care to those who are grieving the loss of a loved one and who desire to have a service to celebrate and remember the life of their loved one.

Also, Centre Street Church will endeavor, when possible to serve our community in making our facilities available to funeral homes when a venue is needed for a funeral and/or memorial service.

Please note the following guidelines for CSC to host a Funeral and/or Memorial service:

  • The service will follow the beliefs and practices of CSC. Rituals, chantings or customs, etc. that contravene the beliefs and practices of CSC will not be permitted. If you have questions or need clarity about certain practices or customs, please discuss this with the CSC funeral coordinator and the CSC pastor designate.
  • A CSC pastor will be involved in the service providing the opening invocation and prayer, and the closing prayer and benediction. The CSC pastor will also be available to provide other aspects of the service if/when necessary.
  • All music will need to be approved by CSC.

Participation by Guest Pastors

  • Before a Guest Pastor is approved to participate in a service, he/she will need to provide information on his/her denominational affiliation, statement of beliefs, and the name of the organization with whom he/she holds ministerial credentials.
  • The Guest Pastor will need to meet with the CSC Life Care Lead Pastor, or her designate, prior to confirmation of the availability of CSC facilities.
