Welcome to Missions & Outreach Ministries

Missions & Outreach encompasses a number of ministries, all with a common objective - to extend the Kingdom of Jesus Christ to people in our city, our nation and our world.

In the City of Calgary, we partner with eleven agencies that share our beliefs and passion for helping and reaching those who are hurting and need to know Jesus.

Nationally, we work alongside our denomination, the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada, and support our college and camp. We also partner with various agencies in empowering and equipping Canadians to reach their nation, including missional development.

Our purpose on an international level is to facilitate the recruitment, sending and partnering of short-term and career missionaries, either to work alongside one of our 25 partner churches, or to an area that they have been called to serve.

It is our desire to aid in the life transformation of our congregation in catching the spirit of the Great Commission and in thinking of the worldwide body of Christ. To that end, we encourage all ages to participate in ministries beyond our local body, referred to as Ministry To Others (MTO). Here's what you can do to get involved:

What is God Saying to You?

• Pray. Adopt one of our missionaries, partner churches or associate agencies and pray for them. To get started, you can contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Our 2010 MTO catalogue includes specific prayer requests that you can lift up throughout the year.

• Learn. As part of CSC's vision to see people grow in their understanding of missions, we offer Empower classes and workshops for those who desire to go into full-time missions, along with partnerships with missional development organizations such as Perspectives on the World Christian Movement and CrossTraining Global.

• Share. In reading through the Bible, we can see that God has a missionary heart. Just as Jesus was sent to be the Good News for us, so we can share the Good News with others. Opportunities to share your faith include Monday Night Evangelism, ESL Bible study and Sewing Ministries.

• Go. Mobilize your small group or family to get involved in MTO teams nationally or internationally. Go on an MTO short-term missions trip to Mexico, Ukraine, India, Nepal, South Africa, or Kenya.

• Serve. Get involved in an MTO Calgary missions project. There are numerous local outreach and service opportunities that you can choose from; click on Getting Involved to see a list of events.
