CSC BoG Biblical Purpose

The CSC Board of Governors assumes RESPONSIBILITY for God honouring stewardship of the ministry and resources of CSC. CSC Board of Governors will SERVE the ministry of Centre Street Church by providing leadership in the development of policies and monitoring progress of ministry goals that support, protect and sustain the vision of CSC.

Key Board Strategies

Determine POLICY, which directs the staff
Alignment with BIBLICAL principles and criteria
Staff directs MINISTRY and OPERATIONS
Staff & members are PARTNERS of the Board
Effective & efficient DECISION making
BALANCE of flexibility & stability
Monitor PROGRESS of ministry goals
Ensure there is SUCCESSION PLANNING for key leadership positions
Representative of and ACCOUNTABLE to the membership of CSC 

Guiding Principles

Trust is in trusteeship: BoG faithfully represents and is accountable to
the members of CSC
We speak with one voice or not at all
Our decisions are predominantly POLICY decisions
Policy follows BROAD VALUES before progressing to narrow ones
We DEFINE & DELEGATE rather than (re)act and ratify
ENDS determination is our pivotal duty
We PROSCRIBE (not prescribe) limits
We DESIGN our own processes and desired outcomes
We FORGE empowering and safe linkages with ministry leaders and management
Rigorously MONITOR performance against policy criteria
