Service Projects:
"Panties for Grannies" Please join us in supplying the following need! Irene Edwards (from our executive) is going on a mission trip to Seed of Hope in South Africa in October to help educate women regarding feminine hygiene concerns. As many of these women cannot afford their own undergarments, we are asking our women to bring new cotton panties (sizes xs to xxxl) to the September meeting. Why the name "Panties for Grannies"? Many of these women have children very young and are often grandmothers by their mid twenties - hence the name.
"Cambell's Soup Labels" This is a program we have been involved with for 28 years. During the past 7 years, we have partnered with Buchanan Elementary School to provide the extra sports equipment and computer software the school needs. This year this project is expanding as Promiseland is joining us to collect as many labels as possible. This is a wonderful project which is a ministry to others right in our own backyard and is a recycling project too!
