NWRC Connected
We want to build an online photodirectory of NWRC friends and attenders. This will be a help to all of us - getting to know faces and names. Tyler Nixon introduced this concept in a worship service several weeks back.
We will email you an invitation by email to have you sign up. Please email if you have not received an invitation and she will assist you with that. Once on the link, you will be prompted for your email address. You will then receive an email that will help get you started.
Baby Bottles
If you have not returned your Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre fund-raiser baby bottle, please return it to the “Question-mark table” at the theatre.
CD Ministry
NWRC now has its own CD service! If you would like a CD of a message, go to the Question-mark Table and place your order. You can pick up your CD the next Sunday.
NW Stampede Country Fair - July 17
Yikes it’s getting close! And we are very much in need of dozens of volunteers. As I have shared in different settings, our primary purpose is to serve our community to a wonderful event, and to make known our presence in the NW! We are in need for volunteers to help with baking, bringing fruit, parking attendants, set up/tear down, and people to serve at the Question-mark sign. For more information, please email our event coordinator, Andrea Schmidt at . You can learn more about this event at our website.
An oh-so practical way to Serve
I am sure that all of us are so thankful for the dozen or so volunteers that take turns, setting up before worship at the theatre. With summer here, our numbers are thinning. If you can help, even if just once a month, please contact Pastor Jon.
The Power of Invitation
Consider the following detail recorded by the apostle John in his gospel: “Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus (John 1:40).
Notice some things with me. First, Andrew tells his brother, “we have found the Messiah”. Early on, at least Andrew believed that Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah. Second, he immediately tells his brother and brings him to Jesus.
Here’s my mini-sermon: Have you found the Messiah? If so, are you, like Andrew, an inviter? And who can we invite? Our family members and friends - people we already know.
Here’s my apeal: All of us can invite people we know to our July 17 outreach event. To help, you can find a supply of postcards at the Question-mark Table.
And - we can all pray. Will you join me in the following prayer for this event: “Father, draw those I have invited - draw people through the postcards - to this wonderful event. Make people thirsty to know more about our awesome Jesus!”
Please note that there will be no public “message” given at this event. However, there will be a huge question-mark sign, to which people can come to learn more about NWRC and our Jesus. As well, we hope that you will engage people in friendly, life-giving conversations with people.
