Hi Centre Street, we’re Tim and Melissa Durksen! We’ve been married for 9 years and have 3 children. Presently we live in Maple Ridge, where we both grew up. We’ve pastored in youth ministry for many years of our marriage but in the last few years we have started to explore church planting in Maple Ridge as something God may be calling us to. The last 9 months we have been working with Multiply, as a Church Planting Apprentice at Crossridge Church in Cloverdale.
God has been awakening our hearts to his mission and the possible call to church plant through our relationships with our lost neighbours. We have a desire to see the church living and speaking the gospel in their everyday lives as we scatter in our workplaces, schools, neighbourhoods and places of recreation; making Jesus known. Currently we are discerning the call to church plant in Maple Ridge where our hearts have been stirred and broken for the people here.
Jake and Maisie LeFave are currently serving at Christ City Church in Vancouver. They have three amazing and very active little boys named Harvey, Theodore, and Markus. Both Jake and Maisie have a passion for good literature, beholding the glory of God in creation, and enjoying Jesus in prayer with good friends and people in their wider community.
Jake has served at Christ City Church for almost four years. Both him and Maisie were drawn Christ City’s vision to establish a network of neighbourhood churches in the city of Vancouver that were small enough to maintain community, yet part of a larger network that would make serving Jesus in an expensive city like Vancouver feasible. Lord willing, Maisie and Jake will be planting Christ City East Vancouver in September of 2019 in the Hastings/Sunrise neighbourhood. Hastings/Sunrise is an ethnically diverse neighbourhood that is home to a multitude of religious expressions. Maisie and Jake’s heart is to proclaim the good news of Jesus in both word in deed as they open up their home and lives to their neighbours.
