Partnering with parents to disciple children…

Welcome to Children’s Ministry at Centre Street Church!

Our heartbeat is to partner with you as parents in the journey of discipling your children and helping them become fully devoted followers of Jesus.

In-Person Ministry

COVID Restrictions Update - In Person Children's Ministries

On September 15th, our Provincial Government declared a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing new restrictions that impact Places of Worship.  We have reviewed the restrictions from Alberta Health Services and believe it impacts Children's Ministries going forward.

As a result, we will continue to have Children's Ministries at Central Campus and Bearspaw Campus but it will be in a limited capacity and with reduced classroom sizes. We will only be able to offer Children's Ministries to children 2 years old and older.  We have reduced the number of children admitted to each age group/classroom to ensure we are following physical distancing requirements.

Reserve Your Child's Spot This Weekend!

Please get a ticket for your child's class before you attend a worship service.  This will ensure we have room for them when you arrive.  Tickets are available through Eventbrite on Friday at 12:00pm each week.

This is a separate ticket from the main worship service ticket.  We will have a waitlist for walk-ins and will allow children in based on how many tickets are not used.

Our doors open 15 minutes before the service starts.  Reserved spots will be held until the service begins.  If you arrive late, your spot may be given away to another family on the wait list.

If you, or anyone in your family, is sick or not feeling well we respectfully ask that you stay home and worship with us online.  Symptoms include:  cough, shortness of breath, chills, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, fever, runny nose, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, headache, and poor appetite.

By staying home and worshipping with us online, you will be partnering with us as we do our very best to keep our learning environments safe and healthy for our children, families, and leaders.

Please check out our Children's Ministries Online Ministry by clicking HERE to continue learning at home.

If you have a ticket through Eventbrite, please ask for a refund and it will automatically put your ticket back into circulation so another family can come to Children's Ministries.

Yes, children 2 years old and older are required to wear masks, unless medically exempt under the municipal bylaw and provincial mask mandate.  We have disposable child masks available in Children's Ministries if you forget yours.

Yes, all leaders are required to wear masks, unless medically exempt under the municipal bylaw and provincial mask mandate.  We have disposable masks available in Children's Ministries if you forget yours.

Yes, there is a maximum number of children allowed in each of our age groups.  This ensures the best learning environment for kids to have fun, be safe, and provide the space needed for activities.  It also ensures there is appropriate room for physical distancing.

Yes we are following physical distancing requirements for places of worship as mandated by Alberta Health Services.  We are committed to providing the best learning environment for kids to have fun, be safe, and have space for the different activities.  This means we have maximum room capacities and physical distancing to ensure we don't overcrowd our rooms.  Seating for children is pre-determined and they stay in their assigned seats during their learning experience.

We want every child to feel known, loved and cared for by their leader.  As a result, we put children into intentional small groups each week.  You will drop off your child into a room/small group with their leader and the other children in their group.  They will stay in their small group as they go through the different activities, move to the different program elements, and have intentional conversations.

Due to the limited capacity or not enough volunteers, there will be times when children cannot get into Children's Ministries.  We encourage you to take your child into the worship service with you, but respectfully ask that if they become loud/disruptive in the worship service that you move to the foyer area.  There are limited designated family friendly areas at some campuses to watch the service with your child outside of the worship centre.

We are working to build our volunteer teams which will increase our ability to accommodate more children at each worship service.  We recommend that you get a ticket ahead of time so you have a spot for your child.

Please prayerfully consider joining us as we partner with parents in discipling this next generation. Check out serving opportunities HERE.

We are committed to creating safe environments for you and your family as we gather to worship.  All classrooms, frequently touched surfaces, toys, and shared materials are sanitized between worship services.  We have enhanced our hand washing and room cleanliness protocols to ensure your health and safety continue to be a priority.

Children's Ministries leaders will be giving children, parents, and leaders hand sanitizer as they enter ministry areas.

We will also continue to monitor community COVID-19 rates and best practices for safe gatherings under the direction of AHS.

If your child becomes ill/sick during Children's Ministries, they will be moved to a designated isolation area at your campus.  Your 3-digit security number for your family will display on the worship centre screens.  Please go to the Children's Ministries entrance and the guest services team will direct you to your child.

The proper health and safety protocols will be followed to ensure limited exposure and proper follow up care.

Families and leaders in individual classes will be notified if we are informed about a positive COVID case in a specific class.  This is similar to our current health policies where we notify families/leaders for other situations, including:  lice, hand foot mouth disease, chicken pox etc.

We will not be having snacks in Children's Ministries during this time.  This will continue to be monitored and may change as we move forward.
