Wearing Masks

Wearing a mask while attending all Centre Street Church Worship gatherings is mandatory. We want to show honor, respect, and love for one another. Read more about our approach to regulations affecting our church here. Read more about our approach to regulations affecting our church here.

Our approach to regulations affecting our church:

Over the past 9 months we have all been in a time where there are many restrictions and requirements being asked of us all each individually and also organizationally. These are coming from various levels of government, who are doing their best to lead us the way they know how in order to limit and stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Many of us have differing personal opinions, some of you have let us know that you won’t come unless mandate masks. We have learned about both young and old individuals who are part of our congregation that have contracted COVID and thankfully have recovered, yet we also know of others who have died from this virus. This has shaped our approach and we want to share this with you:

  1. We want to do everything we can to help do our part to limit the spread of this virus. We have been and will continue to follow the guidance from health care professionals and our provincial and municipal governments. So far, all guidelines and mandates allow us to still gather with reduced occupancy, proper distancing, and mandating mask use. We are following these restrictions.

  2. We are committed to following God’s leading and the mission of our church, which is to “introduce people to Jesus and help them become fully devoted followers of Jesus”. We have adjusted ministry plans and have taken advantage of new opportunities to connect through online and digital venues such as Zoom, Youtube streams, Facebook Groups and more.

  3. We want to show honour, respect and love for one another, regardless of differing perspectives concerning COVID and take precautions as we gather in-person in the ways we are permitted to.

  4. We trust and believe in God’s promise for protection and covering in the midst of a lot of unknowns. Even with that, we know the virus is real, and we want to use wisdom and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to respond in a way that communicates our love, support and care for our congregation, our community and our city.

We continue to monitor and follow recommendations from our government and health services officials.
