We want to give people more than food. We want to give them the love of Christ. Since COVID-19, we have given out over 40K meals to people in need, people who are sick and people in isolation. More Calgarians than ever before are facing food security issues.
People have been hugely encouraged and impacted by the thousands of notes of encouragement that you wrote to include with the meals last summer and fall. We have received many phone calls and emails from people saying how much those notes lifted them up and even kept them going during some of their darkest times. We want to bless others once again, with MORE notes of encouragement as we continue to distribute prepared meals to people in need in 2021!
Despite the current social distancing barriers, we still see an opportunity for all of us, as followers of Christ, to minister to the hearts of those we serve and to create a deeper impact than food alone. We invite you to write notes of encouragement to people in need that we can include with the meals we distribute. We hope, with God’s help, we have a note of encouragement to provide with each meal on an ongoing basis.
Please pray and seek God for what He may be prompting you to write as an encouragement to someone in need. Perhaps He is moving you to write more than one note and to do so regularly.
Pray about what God is leading you to write and/or draw in your note of encouragement.

Isn’t it exciting to know that while God is moving us to provide food and encouragement during COVID-19, construction is also underway to expand our ministry to serve people in need?
That’s right, construction for the Centre for the City has begun!
Our desire is to build stronger bridges between CSC, established and new partners, concerned Calgarians and people in need. We envision the Centre for the City to become a hub for mission work, serving all our campuses, ministries and the greater needs of Calgary.
