Care Connect

Centre Street Church is excited to announce that ‘Care Connect’ Christian ministry has joined our work of ‘Outreach and Evangelism’ under our ‘Centre for the City ‘ banner!

Care Connect has a 36 year history in the City of Calgary providing door to door provision of Food Hampers for the most vulnerable in our city as well as the supply of emergency food on a drop in basis and assistance with bus tickets, help with utilities and other immediate emergency needs.

This faith based city ministry is now operational out of our CFTC location through the NW doors of our central campus at 3900 2nd St. NE

Why Care Connect?

The very core of what ‘Centre for the City’ is all about is to provide doorways to meet the needs of vulnerable Calgarians in the love and community of Jesus! The single greatest issue for those in below the living wage is food insecurity: a food bank hamper contains 10 days worth of nutritious food for each person in your household! We are convinced that when the stress of meeting practical needs is removed – there is opportunity to address deeper needs in people’s lives making a true difference. Outreach through Care Connect reaches into the city in all quadrants of the city sharing the care and love of God.

  • Those who do not drive, and do not live near a transit line.

What is the call for volunteers?

Whether you are a part of one of our five campuses at CSC or a community member who wants to make a true difference for those in experiencing Food Insecurity - WE NEED YOU!!

The primary volunteer opportunity is to pick up food bank hampers at one of several satellite locations in the city and make a personal delivery to individuals and households in need who would have no way of getting this themselves.

The more volunteers we have the more help we can give!

Please fill out the contact form Below to provide emergency help.

Please note: If you are not at home to receive your hamper, the driver will make the decision to either leave it at your door, or return it to the pickup location based off their discretion. We cannot guarantee hampers left at doors will not be taken, and we cannot replace them if you are not home. We highly encourage clients to be at home for the time of delivery. Drivers are also not allowed to enter into your home- please make other arrangements if needed to have the food put away.
