FUN
I will pass along a story today that will cause you to be glad.
Some of you know Robert and Holly Genois. Robert and Holly were long time attenders of CSC, small group leaders, usher/greeters and more. Awhile ago they moved to Nova Scotia. They have settled into a small church and continue to grow in the Lord.
Along the way, Robert stayed in touch with me, resourcing CSC materials for small groups. You see Robert and Holly had a vision to work with their pastor to start small groups in their church. Well, that is exactly what has happened!
Below is an “oh, by the way” kind of email Robert sent to me recently. The text below begins with my reply to his email.
this is absolutely fantastic and a wonderful God-story! bless you, pastors robert and holly!!!
your wonderful emails stir up my "miss you" button every time. can't you guys come back?? :o))

Hi Lawson,
Just a short note to share with you one of our group's' blessing under a less than ideal circumstance. One of their members - a friend of ours, while preparing to take a bath fell and broke her hip and suffered a nasty cut to her head. She was taken to the hospital and following successful surgery she started rehab. Her group, after making some arrangements decided to hold their study at one of the hospital's visiting rooms.
To the pleasant surprise of everyone - while they were singing 8 residents joined in and stayed through the whole evening! Isn't God awesome?
Have a great week
Robert
You see - the smallest things can make a huge difference....
SCARY
Another story. This one far more serious.
My cousin, Jason Braun (our family name is actually Braun!), visited Haiti last November with an MTO team from his church - Oakbrook Church, Kokomo, Indiana. Jason and his team experienced a harrowing incident at the hands of 6 thugs bent on robbing them in the night while they were sleeping. Some in the team were shot but thankfully, no one lost their life. The story was in the news. Friends - listening to this story sounds like something right out of the book of Acts. You can click on the following link for an MP3 account if you are interested. In the interview, they refer to Jason as “brawnee”.

If the link does not work, go to www.oakbrookchurch.com and search “haiti”.
I am so proud of my cousin Jason, and so thankful to God that no one’s life was lost in this horrific ordeal.
WORD BYTE
So Peter was kept in prison, but prayer for him was made fervently by the church to God. And on the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers bound with two chains; and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison….Now when day came, there was no small disturbance among the soldiers as to what could have become of Peter. And when Herod had searched for him and not found him, he examined the guards and ordered that they be led away to execution (excerpted from Acts 12).
